About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to join their Stellenbosch-based team. The ideal candidate will have between 3 and 7 years of post-graduate experience within the construction or consulting environment, with a solid understanding of all cost management phases — from feasibility through to final account closure.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing flexibility between office and remote work. The role provides an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key deliverables while working closely with senior management and clients to ensure financial efficiency, contract compliance, and value creation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies.
Manage and measure quantities for Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and tender documentation.
Lead tender evaluations, adjudications, and cost negotiations.
Administer and manage project costs, budgets, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review progress payment claims, variations, and final accounts.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify measured works.
Support contract administration, including JBCC, FIDIC, or NEC conditions.
Maintain accurate project and cost documentation in line with company standards.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure clear communication and effective project delivery.
Minimum Requirements
BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying from a recognized South African institution.
Registered or eligible for registration with SACQSP as a Professional or Candidate Quantity Surveyor.
3–7 years’ relevant experience in a construction or consulting QS environment.
Proficiency in WinQS, or equivalent cost management software.
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and own transport.
