Purpose of Role

You will take responsibility for commercially managing multiple construction projects (commercial/industrial/tenant installations) for our client, ensuring cost control, contract compliance and risk mitigation through the construction life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead preparation of tender documentation, subcontractor pricing, BoQs, cost plans and value engineering options.

Monitor project financials: forecast costs, track actual vs budget, report variances and propose corrective actions.

Administer contracts (main and subcontract), manage change orders/variations, prepare and issue valuations.

Approve subcontractor monthly applications, validate claims and ensure timely payment.

Collaborate with Project Managers and Site Agents: cost-impact analysis of site decisions, scope changes, program delays.

Maintain risk registers, commercial records, provide monthly commercial reports to senior management.

Participate in procurement strategy, subcontractor selection and negotiation.

Attend site regularly to validate work in progress, confirm subcontractor claims, attend commercial meetings.

Mentor junior QS staff/graduate and build internal QS capacity.

Requirements

BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying (essential).

Approximately 4 years’ post-graduate QS experience in contractor or subcontractor environment.

Strong understanding of JBCC (and/or other standard contract forms) and construction commercial management.

Proven ability in cost control, BoQs, subcontractor management and site commercial interface.

Proficiency in MS Office and QS software (Candy, CostX or similar) would be a strong advantage.

Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites.
