About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Kathu. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-value mining and construction projects while gaining hands-on experience in cost management, contract administration, and commercial processes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members, developing technical and professional skills within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities using WinQS and Dimension X across various disciplines.

·       Support the development of Enquiry and Contract Documents, including subcontractor agreements.

·       Help draft preliminaries, preambles, and basic contract conditions under guidance.

·       Assist in compiling Tender Evaluation and Adjudication Recommendation (TEAR) reports.

·       Support the preparation of payment certificates and monthly cost reports.

·       Participate in the assessment of claims and contract administration tasks.

·       Contribute to budget monitoring, cost tracking, and forecasts under supervision.

·       Support with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).

·       Assist in preparing cost estimates, cash-flow forecasts, and supporting documentation.

·       Attend progress and commercial meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants.

·       Assist with site inspections, tender clarifications, and ad-hoc site meetings, draft meeting notes.

·       Maintain accurate registers (drawings, correspondence, claims, site instructions).

·       Ensure proper documentation and filing systems are maintained (digital and hard copy).

Minimum Requirements:

·       B.Sc. or B.Tech in Quantity Surveying (essential).

·       Registered as a Candidate QS with SACQSP (or eligible to register).

·       2–4 years’ post-graduate experience in mining or construction projects (internship/vacation work will be advantageous).

·       Proficiency in MS Office Suite; exposure to WinQS and Dimension X will be an advantage.
