Our client, a well-established construction firm based in Durban, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to take full ownership of their tendering process using CCS Candy software. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of junior quantity surveyors, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in all QS functions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the preparation of tenders and cost estimates using CCS Candy
· Manage and implement the full tender lifecycle, including pricing, adjudication, and submission
· Collaborate with senior management to evaluate project opportunities and risks
· Oversee and review the work of Junior QS team members, ensuring quality and accuracy
· Monitor and control project budgets, cost reporting, and financial forecasting
· Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to support project delivery
· Ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies
· Provide regular reporting and updates to directors and key stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
· BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
· Minimum of 6–10 years of QS and estimating experience, with a proven track record
· Advanced proficiency in CCS Candy software is essential
· Strong knowledge of construction contracts and tender documentation
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
· Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple priorities
