Job Overview:
A client of ours is seeking skilled Quantity Surveyors to join its dynamic teams in George and Cape Town. The ideal candidates will play a key role in supporting the financial and contractual management of civil and building projects. Applicants must have a solid understanding of construction processes, be detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform cost planning, feasibility studies, and cost-in-use evaluations
· Prepare estimates, tender submissions, and contract documentation, including Bills of Quantities
· Conduct cost analysis and contribute to value management and risk mitigation strategies
· Measure quantities from drawings and on-site to support monthly valuations and claims
· Review and finalize progress claims and final accounts
· Assist in defining client requirements and conducting feasibility assessments
· Monitor and record site activity, including instructions from resident engineers
· Evaluate progress on-site and prepare reports to support claims and payment applications
· Identify and respond to commercial risks and contractual claims
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standard construction contracts in use
Minimum Requirements:
· B.Tech or B.Sc in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification
· Junior QS: 2–3 years of experience
· Proficient in CCS Candy, WinQS, and MS Excel
· Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
