Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets

  • Analyze project drawings and specifications

  • Manage tendering processes and evaluate contractor bids

  • Monitor project costs, variations, and progress

  • Prepare interim and final payment certificates

  • Conduct cost reporting and risk analysis

  • Ensure legal and quality compliance in contracts

  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams

Requirements

  • Education & Registration

    • Relevant Quantity Surveying degree or diploma (BSc / BTech / NDip in Quantity Surveying)

    • Registration with SACQSP (South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession) or working towards registration (advantageous)

  • Experience

    • Minimum 3–5 years’ proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role (preferably in building construction, residential projects)

    • Experience in up-market residential construction will be a strong advantage

  • Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level – formulas, pivot tables, reporting)

    • Working knowledge of EJM, Candy or equivalent cost management software

    • Strong measurement, estimating, and cost control skills

    • Ability to compile bills of quantities, progress valuations, final accounts, and tender documentation

    • Understanding of construction contracts (JBCC, MBA, etc.)

  • Language & Communication

    • Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in Afrikaans and English

    • Strong report writing, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Personal Attributes

    • Must reside in / around Paarl, Western Cape

    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

    • Ability to work independently as well as within a project team

    • High level of integrity and professionalism

    • Problem-solving and analytical mindset

  • Other Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

    • Willingness to travel to sites in the Western Cape when required

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
