About the Role

We are seeking a SACPCMP-registered Construction Health & Safety Officer (CHSO) to join our team and take responsibility for maintaining and enforcing health and safety protocols across multiple active construction sites in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will bring a strong working knowledge of OSHACT, along with experience in compliance monitoring, risk mitigation, and safety training in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and company HSE policies

· Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations

· Deliver toolbox talks and safety inductions for site personnel

· Review and approve subcontractor safety files

· Compile and submit detailed weekly and monthly safety reports and statistics

· Draft and update risk assessments and method statements as required

· Provide ongoing HSE training and promote a safety-first culture across project teams

Requirements

· SACPCMP CHSO registration (non-negotiable)

· Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a construction-related HSE role

· Proven understanding of construction-related hazards and HSE legislation

· Strong reporting skills and familiarity with incident tracking and audits

· Valid driver’s licence and own transport (site visits required)

· Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
