Job description

Are you a skilled engineering professional with a solid background in water and wastewater treatment projects? We are seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of water treatment plant projects – from design through commissioning – ensuring excellence in delivery, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).

• SACPCMP registration as Pr. CPM or Pr. CM is essential.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in water treatment plant design and project management.

Key Performance Areas:

Technical & Project Management:

• Deep understanding of water treatment processes and plant design.

• Manage full project lifecycle: design, procurement, installation, commissioning.

• Provide input based on water sample analysis and operational data.

• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and other engineering tools.

• Build and update project schedules and cost-to-completion forecasts.

 Operational Oversight:

• Lead daily field supervision as needed.

• Coordinate internal and subcontracted teams to minimize delays.

• Ensure all projects meet budget, timeline, and quality specifications.

• Interpret technical drawings, contracts, and plans to teams and contractors.

 Contracts & Commercial Management:

• Contribute to drafting of contracts, changing orders, and procurement documents.

• Assess contractor claims and recommend resolutions.

• Oversee supplier and contractor payments and invoice certification.

• Conduct project phase inspections and sign off on completed works.

 Team & Client Management:

• Manage and mentor technicians and support staff.

• Oversee subcontractors (including borehole drilling and outsourcing for builds).

• Host and lead weekly progress meetings with internal and client stakeholders.

• Maintain clear and consistent communication across all project stakeholders.

 Reporting & Compliance:

• Ensure all documentation, logs, and reports are maintained and submitted.

• Monitor and enforce safety, legal, and compliance standards
