About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Candidate Quantity Surveyor, registered with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP), to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in managing the cost and financial aspects of construction projects while working under the supervision of a Professional Quantity Surveyor as part of a structured training and development program.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist with preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies, and cost plans.

·       Carry out quantity measurement and assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs).

·       Support tender documentation, evaluation, and adjudication processes.

·       Assist with cost control and financial management of ongoing projects.

·       Help prepare progress payment claims and final accounts.

·       Support contract administration, including variation orders and contractual correspondence.

·       Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure budget adherence.

·       Maintain accurate project records in line with statutory and company requirements.

·       Identify and communicate potential business development opportunities.

·       Actively participate in in-house training, workshops, and CPD requirements.

·       Continue developing computer literacy and professional skills.

Minimum Requirements

·       BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying from a recognized South African institution.

·       Registration as a Candidate Quantity Surveyor with SACQSP.

·       1–3 years’ experience in a construction or consulting QS environment.

·       Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.

·       Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

·       Computer literacy, including:

·         - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

·         - Quantity Surveying software (e.g., WinQS, DimX)

·       Valid driver’s license and own transport (advantageous).
