About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Kathu. The successful candidate will contribute to high-value mining and construction projects, supporting clients with cost management, contract administration, and commercial insight. This role requires both strong technical capability and the ability to engage professionally with clients, contractors, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare Bills of Quantities using WinQS and Dimension X across disciplines including Building Work, Earthworks & Civils, SMPP, and E&I.
· Apply various methods of measurement with SANS referencing and measurement groups.
· Develop Enquiry and Contract Documents (supply and construction), including sub-contracts.
· Draft preliminaries, preambles, and contract conditions (NEC, FIDIC, GCC Blue Book, bespoke).
· Compile Tender Evaluation and Adjudication Recommendation (TEAR) reports.
· Generate payment certificates and monthly cost reports.
· Support the Associate with claims assessment and management.
· Finalise accounts and manage contract administration.
· Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
· Set up Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
· Prepare CAPEX Estimating Plans, Direct/Indirect Cost Estimates, cash-flow forecasts, and Basis of Estimate documentation.
· Conduct benchmarking, validation, and audit reporting for CAPEX estimates.
· Participate in progress, cost, contractual, and commercial meetings with clients/EPCM teams.
· Carry out site inspections, tender clarifications, and ad-hoc site meetings; compile meeting minutes.
· Maintain accurate registers (SI/CE, drawings, correspondence, claims).
· Ensure proper document management and filing systems (digital and hard copies).
Technical Competencies
· B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying (non-negotiable)
· Registered as a Candidate with SACQSP
· 5–10 years post-graduate experience in mining and construction projects
· Proficiency in WinQS, Dimension X, MS Office Suite
