Position Overview

Our client is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with 5 to 7 years of consulting experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering cost management and advisory services, ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role requires regular travel across Africa and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and tender documentation.

  • Manage project costs, budgets, and financial reporting throughout project life cycles.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering.

  • Manage and evaluate tenders, contracts, and subcontractor agreements.

  • Provide post-contract services including progress valuations, variation assessments, and final accounts.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.

  • Conduct site visits across African countries as required.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Qualification: BSc in Quantity Surveying or B-Tech (essential).

  • Experience: 5–7 years of consulting firm experience (contractor experience not desired).

  • Proven background in projects involving lodges and luxury accommodations, preferably in the African context.

  • Strong knowledge of cost management processes and contract administration.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to liaise across all project levels.

  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently.

  • Willingness to travel extensively across Africa.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, solutions-driven mindset.
